About me.

Hi! I’m Anastasia Martinez and I’m an English teacher. I live in San Francisco, a beautiful city in the US.

I’ve been teaching English for more than 9 years and I really love it. Teaching and helping others have always been my passion. After pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in teaching English and German, I decided to continue expanding my knowledge in teaching while working at various language schools. I chose the M.A. in TESOL program at the University of San Francisco, which gave me tremendous theoretical and practical background knowledge related to language acquisition, theory and methodology of teaching a foreign language, while practicing being culturally sensitive to students and their learning needs. By taking various TESOL classes and completing more research on teaching English and language learning and acquisition, I was able to shape my teaching philosophy. Also, while pursuing my Master’s degree at USF, I started working as a middle school English Language Arts (ELA) and English Language Development (ELD) teacher in a Title 1 school. Being able to help ELLs and English-only speaking students master their language skills and apply them in content area classes became a primary goal for me.

I actively participate in various regional and international ESL conferences and webinars. Developing my knowledge base and sharing ideas with other instructors has been an extremely rewarding experience.

I hope my website will help educators find interesting resources for their own classroom.
